Announcing the Release of Our Latest Simulators
Exclusive Preview: Vermeer Horizontal Directional Drill (HDD) Simulator – 2025 Update
The 2025 Vermeer Horizontal Directional Drill Simulator will introduce new procedural training for automation-assisted drill sequences—delivered through immersive spatial computing to better prepare operators for the realities of precision underground work. Built with Unity on the ForgeSim™ platform, the simulator integrates real Vermeer drill controls through ForgeSIM™ CONTROL, which connects physical joysticks, levers, and switches via custom CAN BUS systems. These inputs are paired with immersive spatial computing environments—reinforcing procedural fluency and spatial awareness to build muscle memory and reflect the realities of operating the Vermeer HDD on the job.
The simulator is now configured for Meta Quest 3 PCVR—a significant step forward from legacy tethered headsets—eliminating the need for external base stations and restrictive cabling. Meta Quest 3’s improved optics, precise hand tracking, and responsive feedback enhance the simulator’s immersive training environment, mirroring real-world operations while reducing logistical constraints and supporting more flexible deployment across Vermeer’s 600+ global dealer locations.
